Purpose
To provide scholarships to potential urban campers so that the blessings of camp may be shared.

Participation Guidelines
Anyone may participate as an individual or as part of a team. Individuals do all 3 triathlon legs. Teams may incorporate 2 or 3 people to complete each leg of the race. Teams should register together.

Fundraising Guidelines
Although the fee to race is $25 per person (includes a t-shirt as well as breakfast and lunch) we encourage all participants to raise additional money.  Our goal is the keep the cost low so that as many people as possible will be able to participate, but we would like to challenge anyone participating to consider raising additonal funds that will go toward urban camping scholarships at Portage Lake.

Triathlon Distances
This event is an Olympic style triathlon with a shortened swim leg. As such, the event is intended for those who believe that their fundraising enjoyment will be enhanced by entering a strenuous athletic event lasting 2 to 4 hours. The distances are as follows:
Lake Swim (800 m/.5 mile)
Bike Ride (20 km/13 miles)
Run (5 km/3.1 miles)

For those who wish to participate in the day’s activities with a much less strenuous exercise, there will also be a 5 km (3.1 mile) Fitness Walk. The walk will begin at approx. 7:30 am.

Housing
Because this is also the first full day of Family Camp 4, camp is unable to house those participants who need to stay overnight on Saturday. However, many friends of camp live nearby. Those who need assistance in making local housing arrangements should contact the camp office no later than August 7.

Registration
To register for this event, please use the online registration forms or download a registration form and mail it to camp. Registration includes a light pre-race breakfast at camp, a Triathlon T-shirt, and Sunday lunch. Please indicate if any others are attending with you but not participating.  Cost for non-participants who would like to eat breakfast and lunch with us is $10.
