Friends of Portage Lake Cookbook PDF Print E-mail

Some camp supporters are starting a thrilling new funrasing endeavor!!  The Portage Lake Staff encourages you to peruse this page and contribute recipes to the cookbook.  However, please note that this project is NOT being organized by camp, so if you have any questions please contact head coordinator, Sheila Johnson.

We are in the beginning stages of a very exciting project--the very first Camp cookbook.  This cookbook will not only be a book with recipes but also a book that celebrates the people and the spirit of Portage Lake Covenant Bible Camp.  We are hoping we will be able to raise money from the sales of the books for some of the new projects that are happening at camp.

Cookbook_copyWhat we NEED from you:

1.  Your favorite recipes.  When submitting a recipe make sure you give us all the DETAILS—amounts, full directions, temperatures to be cooked and time needed to cook.  Also, include your name and phone number and or email address in case we have any questions.

2.  Favorite camp food memory i.e. something that happened in the dining hall, pictures of dining hall (inside or out), memory of a camp cook, favorite food and the cook who made it.

3.  We will also need funding to get started on this project.  We are looking for individuals that would like to donate services or money for the 1st printing of the book.

4.  Your help.  If you are interested in helping with this project please print off this form and contact Sheila Johnson.

Not all recipes submitted will be put in the cookbook.  We will have the Friends of Portage Lake (FPLC) committee choose recipes that complement each other, as well as make sure we don’t have duplicate recipes.

I am very excited about this project.  My goal is not only to raise money for camp but also to remember and celebrate the special times that are shared over meals with those we love!

Sincerely, Sheila Johnson
