If you are looking for a unique vacation for your family, look no further than Portage Lake.  Family camp at Portage Lake offers all the typical fun of summer camp programmed activities: ropes, waterfront, skate park, arts 'n crafts, Canteen, Cool Beans, skits, day camp, off site trips, camper versus staff games, The Portager Team Challenge, the missions auction, chapel and much, much more.  And you never know what other crazy activities the summer staff may cook up.

Perhaps even better than all the planned activities are the unplanned activities—catching up with old friends, spending late nights playing games in the dining hall.  Nothing says community like family camp.  Camp is a great place to meet new friends and grow in fellowship with friends of long standing.  If you attend family camp each summer, maybe it's time to invite another family to come share in the experience.  If you have never attended camp or have not been to family camp in several years, sign up for this summer.  We still have openings for you!

KidzFamily camp is one of the best

investments you can make in your family's spiritual life.  Adults can look forward to digging deep with our fantastic speakers in morning Bible study and evening chapel.  While adults are in Bible study, our trained and dedicated staff run vacation Bible school-styled lessons for kids of all ages.  Parents are encouraged to talk about spirtuality with their children, families are invited to pray together--these are activities even Disney World does not offer!

Speaking for Family Camp 1 this year is Tim Atkins.  Tim is from Bluffton, Indiana and two and a half years ago, he started a non-denominational church called "The Fountain."  Before pastoring at "The Fountain," Tim worked as a Campus Life Director with Youth for Christ.  This upcoming summer will be Tim's 10th summer speaking at Senior High Camp but first summer speaking for a Family Camp!

Wally

Speaking for Family Camp 3 this year is Wally Coots.  Wally was in youth ministry for 36 years, 12 at Forest Park and 7 in Kijabe, Kenya serving at Riff Valley Academy.  He recently returned to Forest Park as the Pastor of Congregation Life.

Kris Causton will be speaking for Family Camp 4.  Many women may recognize Kris as she spoke at our women’s retreat last fall.  Kris is the associate pastor at Excelsior Covenant Church in Minnesota and an adjunct Bible instructor at Bethel University in St Paul.  The first time Kris was at Portage Lake she witnessed Dave Nesburg in a creamed-corn wrestling match.  She can hardly wait to see what will happen at camp this August!
