Speaking for both Pathfinders (June 18-20) and Trailblazer 2 (August 1-7) is camp all-star Jerry Jacoby! Last summer, Jerry celebrated his 50th year of coming to Portage Lake! After working for many years as a band director and vocal music teacher, Jerry became a fulltime Family & Children’s Performer 24 years ago. Even before becoming a fulltime performer, Jerry starting speaking at retreats for elementary school children in 1978! Jerry and his wife Michaella (who is also an incredibly talented musician) love to share the gospel with children. Even with his years of experience, Jerry admits that he is not perfect and needs the grace of God daily! Jerry and Michaella will make your kids feel right at home. Jerry's creative and spiritual songwriting is not just catchy, it's full of valuble life lessons!

Speaking for Trailblazer 1 (June 20-26) is Johnny Aho. Johnny is the pastor at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dearborn, Michigan. Johnny and his wife Michelle have three daughters. As a father Johnny is very passionate about the direction kids are going in these modern times. Not afraid to warn kids of the challenges they may face in life, Johnny compliments such warnings with a message of assurance that God will be with them through all of life's perils and will not leave them to face challenges alone. Throughout the week, Johnny invests in the lives of our campers and will often play father to those who are homesick. Johnny's uplifting and encouraging energy is bound to rub off on your children!
